The City of Beloit City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building located at 119 N. Hersey Ave.

Voters elect six city council members to four-year terms. Starting in 2023, the City of Beloit council will be made up of 5 council members with at large election having 2 seats and 3 seats open on alternating elections.
The Council sets policies, adopts ordinances and the annual budget, approves contracts, appoints individuals to boards and commissions, and hires the city manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the City.
