The Transportation Department maintains and repairs over 40 miles of surface roadway, curb / gutter, handicap access ramps, traffic control devices and crosswalks. The department is also responsible for improvement of the community's streets and curb/gutter. These projects are all a part of the City's Capital Improvement Plan, with funding being provided by a ½ cent sales tax. This has allowed the City to make significant upgrades to its deteriorating infrastructure.
